Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Exodus 20 : 12
Good morning, friends. I watched a video and it's too good conveying the following.
A gentleman reads the newspaper and his father sits beside him in the garden. The old man hears some sound from the near by bush and asks his son, "What is that?". His son turns around and replies, "It is a sparrow." A few seconds later, the father again asks, "What is that?" The young man gets tensed somehow, but replies, "I just now told you father. It's a sparrow." Then the sparrow flies and sits here and there making sound. He again asks, "What is that?" The son replies, "A sparrow dada, a sparrow" and he spells it out, "a s-p-a-r-r-o-w" and starts shouting, "Why are you doing this? I told you so many times. It's a sparrow. Can't you get it?" The old man starts walking inside the house and brings his old diary. He opens it up and turns it till he finds something and asks his son to read it aloud. The man reads, "Today my youngest son who a few days ago turned three was sitting with me in a park when a sparrow sat in front of us. My son asked 21 times what it was. I answered it 21 times that it was a sparrow. I hugged him every single time he asked me the same question again and again without getting mad, feeling affection for my innocent little boy." The guy stops reading and starts hugging and kissing his loving father.
Are you getting what it conveys? I watched it again and again. I have never seen my mom and dad buying something costlier for themselves, eating delicious food, going to tourist spots, etc,... They silently and willingly watch me enjoying everything. Whenever I think of my parents and the love they have towards me, I simply ask myself some questions. "Am I really worthy of this great love? How many times have I neglected their simple desires? How many times have I reciprocated the love I get from them? Or at least how often I pray for them? bla bla..." See, it is not too late to support them spiritually, financially, mentally with love. Better late than never. Because they deserve it!!
