Deadly disease!

Good morning, friends. We have two stories today. :)

The first:


It happened that a dog had got a piece of meat and was carrying it home in his mouth to eat it in peace. Now on his way home he had to cross a plank lying across a running brook. As he crossed, he looked down and saw his own shadow reflected in the water beneath. Thinking it was another dog with another piece of meat, he made up his mind to have that also. So he made a snap at the shadow in the water, but as he opened his mouth the piece of meat fell out, dropped into the water and was never seen more.


Now the second:


The greedy Midas asked the angel that he wanted everything to turn gold when he touch it, the angel granted it. He felt so happy when he saw whatever he touched turned gold. But when he was shocked to the core when his own one and only daughter became a golden statue when he hugged her.

Was it not pathetic to lose even what we have? I don't know how many of you are aware of the game 'Prime Suspect'. It is an interesting game (at least for the first time) which gives us certain hints to find out the suspects of the city. When I played it a few quarters back, it gave me a hint 'Deadly disease'. I searched AIDS, Cancer, etc,... As the time was flying, I used help and found out that it expected me to click on Greed. Did you ever consider greed as a deadly disease? But it is.


What does Bible talk about Greed? Nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6 : 10


How can we run away from this sin? Bible shows that the best way is to be content with what we have and whatever circumstances we are in. Hebrews 13 : 5 and Philippians 4 : 11


Do you believe if Christ is your shepherd you lack nothing? Then be content with all that you have. Beware lest you lose the substance by grasping at the shadow.


There is a tiny difference between greed and need. I came across this wonderful signature tag line. Thank GOD For What We Have; trust GOD For What We Need.

Your protective shade!

The LORD Himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.  Psalm 121 : 5 I know it has been a very long time since I have sent God’s Word to you. Since this is the first email in 2014, I have been waiting to send you either my personal testimony or one of my friends’ testimonies. I have drafted several emails, but didn’t send anything. Today, I am not able to keep quiet when I think about what God has done for me over last weekend. If it is God’s will I will meet you again with a wonderful testimony of my friend, while I am sending mine to you now. Many of you know a bit about me. I traveled onsite in the year 2010 and returned to India for good in July, 2013. I got married in August, 2013 (this itself is a separate testimony) and started going to office from September, 2013. Be on guard; stay alert!

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Mark 8 : 36 With all the fun and timeout I had with my husband as we spent about 9 days in Kerala, I had trouble in sleeping last but the previous night because of restless legs. I know it would go if I ate few bananas, but I didn’t get up as I felt lazy. I did whatever I could, to sleep, but I only slept after several hours. I had a dream/vision like never before. It was very scary. Even now I am filled with what I saw that night. I don’t know how I can write about it, but I will try. I am not saying that I am a saint and God showed me this for some reason. But I don’t want to keep it with myself, because if it was from God, then I wanted to tell others. Please bear with me as you read forward. In my dream, I saw myself resting on my Aunt’s lap in the terrace at night. As I looked up while I was speaking, I saw the planet Saturn coming down from the Sky.
