Incredible kindness!

Do not neglect doing good and sharing; for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16  Good morning, friends! He was a seller of second-hand shoes. He seemed to be in his 70’s, and was so tired as nobody was buying his shoes. Then, a little girl came to him saying, " Sir, may I polish your shoes?" The old man took pity on her, smiled and gave her a shoe to polish. The girl said, "I polish the shoe because I need money to buy my brother a new school uniform." The old man replied, "Oh, little girl just stop doing this. Come with me and I will buy a uniform." Then they walked to a store and he bought a uniform. This act of incredible kindness, shown by someone who has so little for himself, proclaims an ultimate truth. The Bible talks a lot about showing kindness. A few sample verses are given below. “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the f

Maybe knocked down!

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. Psalm 139:13 The picture of the sculpture you see was taken by myself in the Brookgreen garden, South Carolina. I am amazed by the sculptor who built it. He took care of each and every single part of that sculpture so that it looks real with facial expressions. :)  Our God is the greatest sculptor ever, as He created us in His own image, and gave His life so we became real, not just a sculpture! :) I read this story on the Internet. A father gave his son some bits and pieces of a world map and asked him to reassemble them properly. He thought his son would take much time to accomplish it. But to his surprise, the boy reassembled it quickly and handed the world map to his father. The father could not stop wondering asked him, “How did you do it so quickly? It is quite challenging.” The boy responded to his dad, “Yes it is. But there is a picture on the other side of the world map. This pictu

It is worth it!

You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:32 It might sound silly to some of you, funny t o others. My grandma is more than 80 years old. She lost her husband 3 years ago. Though she has 9 children, and she lives with her youngest son, all her children visit her whenever they can. As I wrote yesterday, my mom and sister visited with her for a few days and my grandma proves the already known facts. :) She behaves like a small kid who says things over and over again. People who are not mature enough may not even listen to her, like my sister. I would like to narrate to you a few conversations of my grandma with my sister. Grandma:  How is Jansi doing? My sister:  She is fine granny. Grandma:  Does she speak to you often? My sister:  Oh yes. She calls us every day. Grandma: I want to see her very badly. Within a minute, she repeats the same questions again, and she

The default response

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people… 1 Timothy 2:1 Good morning, friends! I spoke to my sister last night on a phone call. These are a few things that I learned from her. My 5 year s old niece had an appendicitis surgery a few days ago. My 3 years old cousin was beaten up by a staff member at his school and lost a tooth. Highly cruel! He also has some issues with his gums and lips, as a result of the beating. He is a special child in his family as he was born 13 years after his sister was born. We were shocked to hear this as we know that he has never even been spanked by his own mom. My maternal Uncle is suffering from Jaundice and my other cousin is suffering some kind of depression due to a financial problem. Another Uncle, who was healed from mouth cancer about 10 years ago, now has pain in his mouth due to the laser treatments done to

Say 'No' to Human trafficking!!!

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6: 19,20 I never thought much about Human Trafficking until I heard some of my friends telling me about it. There came a time when we had to think about sending my sister to Bangalore or Chennai to search for a job. For some reasons my parents hesitated to send her to the big cities. I argued with them, saying that she needs to go out to explore the world. Keep in mind that I am not there to help her, by having her stay with me. However, my argument with my parents ended when I heard my roommates talking about some incidents happened in Chennai, India recently. I have listed three of these incidents below. 1.       Three young girls were staying in a ladies hostel. They looked professional and interacted with others nicely. No one had a clue that they wer

Prestige pressure cooker magic!

Before you assume anything from the title of the post, let me tell you that I am not a brand ambassador of Prestige pressure cookers in any way. :)  Then why am I speaking about it? Well, the answer is, the Lord has been reminding me about an incident for the past few days and so I wanted to share it with you today. I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds. Psalm 77 : 11, 12 3 years ago, when I lived with my friends in Chennai, my mom visited us for a few days. She has always been a great help to us. For example, I had a lot of clothes to be washed, and we didn’t have a washing machine. So, after I left for the office, she washed and dried them all. Then, during a holiday, around noon, she was cooking rice for me in a pressure cooker. When it was almost time for the cooker to whistle she had moved a little farther and started arranging my clothes inside a

Holding hands!

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.   Isaiah 41 : 10 Good morning.  Recently, a little boy became very close to me and started spending a lot of his time with me when I lived at his house. He wants to watch videos of ‘Lightning McQueen’, ‘Angry Birds’, ‘Thomas the train and his friends’ etc… on YouTube. He also plays some online games which are very interactive. He listens to every single instruction or dialogue. And it’s no surprise that he is super smart. :) When I was waiting to move to another location for my next assignment, I stayed home most of the time. One morning when I got up he came to my room and wanted me to show him some ‘Peppa pig’ videos. I liked the plan, or I should say that I had to like whatever he tells me. ;) We started watching the videos one after the other and this went on for more than 2.5 hou

The passing clouds

Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30 : 5b Recently I went to Orlando to see some of my American friends as they gathered to present some topics on BusinessObjects. Okay, no more technical talk here. J I boarded the flight and got a window seat. And the flight was during daylight hours, so I just looked out the window the whole time, thinking how I could spend 5 days with my friends. One thing struck my mind as I looked at the sky. This is a picture which I took during the trip when the sky was pretty clear. This revealed so many truths. I pray that this would help you and yours. 1. I saw the giant buildings and trees diminishing in their sizes as the plane took off and started flying higher and higher. After a few minutes, I could not see them at all. Sometimes, the problems we face seem to be the toughest problem anyone could ever face. The truth is, that the same problem has different levels of complexities in different

You gotta be dead!

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again”  John 3:3 Good morning! There are two funny stories about kids below. A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said that it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because, even though it was a very large mammal, its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah". The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?" The little girl replied, "Then you ask him". :)  “If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale, and gave all my money to the church, would I get into heaven?” the Sunday school teacher asked the children. “NO!” they answered. “If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the yard, and

It is free, but not cheap!!!!

I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin. Psalms 32 : 5 Good morning, friends!  Is anything free in this world? A few months ago one of my friends gave me a free coupon. This blog post is all about that coupon. :) All I had to do was to take it to the store (I forgot its name) and choose one of the electronic items listed in the coupon, for free. Yes, for free! The list included a USB flash drive, memory card and a few other items which were really useful! Since I don’t have a car, I could not drive to the store, and so I didn’t use the coupon.   Are you wondering what’s special about this free coupon?!  1. It is free: It’s rare to find something free these days. :) Rarely do we get such coupons here (obviously there is a marketing secret behind such free giveaways.) 2. It comes with a deadline within which the coupon should be used. Otherwise t

Preach with your actions

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4 Good morning, friends.  A year and a half old boy carried the Television, that was kept on the TV stand, on his head when his parents weren’t watching him, and was severely hurt and admitted into the hospital. The doctors had no hope in his recovery and told this to the relatives. His cousin, who is also a little boy told his mother that he would give his savings in his piggy bank to the Lord, as an offering, so He could save his cousin from the injury. He didn’t just say it, he actually offered all his savings to God just as he said he would. You know what happened? His cousin was saved and healed completely. I am not saying that the Lord saved the boy because of the offering, but because of the faith he had in God and the willing sacrifice he made for his cousin, even when he himself was very young. God honored his faith and his sacrifice as

The 4 UPs

He is like a tree planted by the streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.  Psalms 1 : 3 Good morning, friends. You may know the story below. Hundreds of years ago, the Scotland King, Robert the Bruce had been beaten up by the King of England and his army six times in a row. Tired by the continuous defeats, the King laid in a cave getting ready to give up hope. He noticed a spider over his head, getting ready to weave her web. He watched her as she worked slowly and with care. Six times she tried to throw her thread from one edge of the cave wall to another. Six times her thread fell short. "Poor thing!" said Robert the Bruce. "You, too, know what it's like to fail six times in a row." But the spider did not lose hope. With still more care, she made her web the seventh time. Robert the Bruce learned a lesson, gathered his little brave army, waged a war against the King of England an
