Unplugged cord

I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15 : 5

Good morning, friends! Below is a simple incident that happened recently.

It was a busy morning.  I got up late, had only a few minutes until I needed to board the bus to the office. I had no other choice, but to select a pair of pants which were not ironed. I very quickly plugged the iron into the power outlet and ironed it. But after a while I noticed that the iron didn’t emit the heat it usually does when I set it to cotton. I tried pressing harder, but it didn’t help. I scolded myself for getting up late and using a useless iron. With the minutes flying like anything, and just when I was about to give up, I saw that the plug was unplugged from the outlet. It had come out of the outlet when I pulled it.

John 15 : 5 talks about the same idea. He is the vine and we are the branches. If we remain in Him and He in us, we will bear much fruit; apart from Him we can do nothing. No matter how hard I pressed the iron on the pants, adjusted the settings, the pants remained the same. When the cable is unplugged from the power socket, it could not do anything and was useless to me.

We, too, are useless if we are not connected to God. We can do nothing. We need the power of Him, to do even the simplest things. When I prepared for my Engineering exams, I always read His Word and prayed more than I usually did, because I knew that God would honor my faith in Him, and enable me to study more in less time. Jesus told us to stand against Satan. If you and I stand against Satan without Jesus, Satan can easily do anything to us. We cannot stand at all. We will be prone to anything (sickness, sin, temptation, worries, frustration, etc…) if we stay disconnected from God. I know that I cannot endure even a small thing that disturbs me when I am lost. But if I stay close to Him, I get enough strength to overcome the failures.

Friends, remain connected with God. Without Him we can do nothing. With Him, we can do anything! God alone is our strength and power!

On Sunday at our Church we sang this.
“And I, I’m desperate for you
And I, I’m lost without you.”

How true that is! We are lost without Him! Let us remain connected with Him so we can overcome the enemy and fulfill God’s purpose in our lives.

Incredible kindness!

Do not neglect doing good and sharing; for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16  Good morning, friends! He was a seller of second-hand shoes. He seemed to be in his 70’s, and was so tired as nobody was buying his shoes. Then, a little girl came to him saying, " Sir, may I polish your shoes?" The old man took pity on her, smiled and gave her a shoe to polish. The girl said, "I polish the shoe because I need money to buy my brother a new school uniform." The old man replied, "Oh, little girl just stop doing this. Come with me and I will buy a uniform." Then they walked to a store and he bought a uniform. This act of incredible kindness, shown by someone who has so little for himself, proclaims an ultimate truth. The Bible talks a lot about showing kindness. A few sample verses are given below. “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the f...

Thank you, Lord!!!

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.   2 Corinthians 12: 9 Below is a small portion of what I read in the book ‘ I’ve got to talk to somebody, God ’ written by ‘ Marjorie Holmes ’. "Oh God, how grateful we should be for color. For blue skies, blue eyes, and for the little blue dress that I am hanging on the line, for the ruby red of cherries, the red on the wood pecker’s throat, for the countless shades of green which carpet the ground and for the lovely yellow so rich and so intense in an egg yolk, a lemon, golden yellow of sunshine, daffodils, for different shades of skin, eyes and hair! How dull it would be Lord to see all the races and all faces looked alike." I never imagined that someone would thank the Lord for the colors. She doesn’t stop there. She thanks the Lord for she got the chance to doing ...

Lazarus' Deliverer

Because He himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted. Hebrews 2:18 Easter is the most special day in the history that gave hope to the mankind! Lazarus, the brother of Martha and Mary was dead four days before Jesus reached Bethany. Jesus loved that family and they loved him as well. He was not there when Lazarus was sick. Lazarus was buried when Jesus reached Bethany. His sisters were weeping. Jesus also wept. They told Jesus, “Lord, if you have been here, Lazarus would not have died.” They moved on to Lazarus’ tomb. There was a stone across the entrance. Surely there was bad odor. Yet, Jesus said, “Take away the stone. If you believed, you would see the glory of God.” He prayed and there came Lazarus alive with his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” God’s love is the same toward everyone! He doesn’t show favoritism. He love...
