Ask, Seek, Knock!

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7 : 7 – 8


Good morning, friends!

I read these stories long ago.

A little boy, on his way to his school every day, saw a Church. He didn’t know how to pray, so he simply went inside and knelt down and said to Jesus, “Hi Jesus! This is me, Jim.” This went on for many days. One day he didn’t come to Church. He was sick in the hospital. So Jesus went to him and said, “Hi Jim! This is me, Jesus!”

One more for you. :)

One little boy wanted a bicycle. So he wrote the following letter to God. “Jesus, I know I am not a good boy. But still I need a bicycle. Please give me one.” He realized that his letter would not convince God. He tore it up and wrote another one. This time, it was “Jesus, I will be a good boy going forward. I need a bicycle. Please give me one.” But he still was not convinced that God would accept it. He quickly went to a nearby Catholic church and stole the small statue of the Mother of Jesus, Mary. Then he wrote, “Jesus, I have stolen your mom. If you want her back, please give me a bicycle.” :)

Kids are always fun! Sometimes they are serious. Sometimes they are funny. Sometimes they think they are serious. :) However, their innocent prayers always matter! Jesus wanted His disciples not to restrict the children from coming to Him.

Even though we are adults, still to Jesus, we are His kids. He loves our innocent prayers. I read this in on the Internet. The Bible tells us to ask, seek & knock. These three are not different types of prayer, but different modes of prayer. That means praying to the Lord (asking), if the answer from Him is delayed (He is never late, but may be not at the time we expect), keep persisting until we receive it (seeking & knocking).

Your protective shade!

The LORD Himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.  Psalm 121 : 5 I know it has been a very long time since I have sent God’s Word to you. Since this is the first email in 2014, I have been waiting to send you either my personal testimony or one of my friends’ testimonies. I have drafted several emails, but didn’t send anything. Today, I am not able to keep quiet when I think about what God has done for me over last weekend. If it is God’s will I will meet you again with a wonderful testimony of my friend, while I am sending mine to you now. Many of you know a bit about me. I traveled onsite in the year 2010 and returned to India for good in July, 2013. I got married in August, 2013 (this itself is a separate testimony) and started going to office from September, 2013. Since I had my visa valid for 2 more years I had been asked to take up an onsite assignment and was not offered a project at offshore. I had some concerns in traveling o

"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "Be it unto me according to Your Word." Luke 1: 38 Good morning! Yesterday early in the morning when I was getting ready to go to office, I heard my husband speaking to me with a thin voice and to hear him better I went close to him without expecting him to wave his hand (without knowing that I went close to him) over my face with his nails on. A portion of skin under my eyes was peeled off. Since it was near the infraorbital furrow, it is not visible outside. But it is painful. This incident has nothing to do with the message today, except this reminded me of all the hurting moments (not physical hurts, but emotional) I experienced in my life thus far because of the ones I trusted and I didn’t reciprocate, I felt like I have been sacrificing so much for nothing, to the point that, those who hurt me didn’t even know that they did.
