Preach with your actions

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

Good morning, friends.

A year and a half old boy carried the Television, that was kept on the TV stand, on his head when his parents weren’t watching him, and was severely hurt and admitted into the hospital. The doctors had no hope in his recovery and told this to the relatives. His cousin, who is also a little boy told his mother that he would give his savings in his piggy bank to the Lord, as an offering, so He could save his cousin from the injury. He didn’t just say it, he actually offered all his savings to God just as he said he would. You know what happened? His cousin was saved and healed completely.

I am not saying that the Lord saved the boy because of the offering, but because of the faith he had in God and the willing sacrifice he made for his cousin, even when he himself was very young. God honored his faith and his sacrifice as well as others’ prayers for the little boy.

Now, how did he come to know about having faith in God? He didn’t need somebody to tell him that he had to have faith in God. He already had it. How is that even possible? Of course, God’s Spirit was upon him. But I believe that his parents also lived a life of faith, so even at his young age, he saw them praying to God, sacrificing for others’ goodness, and learned about God’s power, and what to do when troubles such as these come.

So parents or elders, what are you doing in your family today? Are you living a moral life with faith and thankfulness? Or just grumbling against the Lord for what you don’t have yet? Are you cursing and mocking others in front of your children? Remember, what you sow is what you reap. You can never expect them to be good when you yourself are not setting a good example for them. It is not the wealth you accumulate for your children that makes them good, but the way you live your life. The things that you write in their heart when they are young remain in there forever and teach them to depend on God for everything. They teach them to praise Him for the answered prayers and sacrifices. They also teach them to rely on Him even when things don’t work out the way they want.

The role that you ought to play in their lives cannot be replaced by anyone else. If you struggle in any area which causes your family members to turn from God, please take a moment and ask God to help you overcome them, and set right it before it is too late.

May God bless you!!!

Incredible kindness!

Do not neglect doing good and sharing; for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:16  Good morning, friends! He was a seller of second-hand shoes. He seemed to be in his 70’s, and was so tired as nobody was buying his shoes. Then, a little girl came to him saying, " Sir, may I polish your shoes?" The old man took pity on her, smiled and gave her a shoe to polish. The girl said, "I polish the shoe because I need money to buy my brother a new school uniform." The old man replied, "Oh, little girl just stop doing this. Come with me and I will buy a uniform." Then they walked to a store and he bought a uniform. This act of incredible kindness, shown by someone who has so little for himself, proclaims an ultimate truth. The Bible talks a lot about showing kindness. A few sample verses are given below. “Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the f...

Thank you, Lord!!!

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.   2 Corinthians 12: 9 Below is a small portion of what I read in the book ‘ I’ve got to talk to somebody, God ’ written by ‘ Marjorie Holmes ’. "Oh God, how grateful we should be for color. For blue skies, blue eyes, and for the little blue dress that I am hanging on the line, for the ruby red of cherries, the red on the wood pecker’s throat, for the countless shades of green which carpet the ground and for the lovely yellow so rich and so intense in an egg yolk, a lemon, golden yellow of sunshine, daffodils, for different shades of skin, eyes and hair! How dull it would be Lord to see all the races and all faces looked alike." I never imagined that someone would thank the Lord for the colors. She doesn’t stop there. She thanks the Lord for she got the chance to doing ...

Lazarus' Deliverer

Because He himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted. Hebrews 2:18 Easter is the most special day in the history that gave hope to the mankind! Lazarus, the brother of Martha and Mary was dead four days before Jesus reached Bethany. Jesus loved that family and they loved him as well. He was not there when Lazarus was sick. Lazarus was buried when Jesus reached Bethany. His sisters were weeping. Jesus also wept. They told Jesus, “Lord, if you have been here, Lazarus would not have died.” They moved on to Lazarus’ tomb. There was a stone across the entrance. Surely there was bad odor. Yet, Jesus said, “Take away the stone. If you believed, you would see the glory of God.” He prayed and there came Lazarus alive with his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” God’s love is the same toward everyone! He doesn’t show favoritism. He love...
