Little is not too little

They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.” 18 And he said, “Bring them here to me.” Matthew 14 : 17,18

Good morning, friends.

13 Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a desolate place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. 14 When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. 15 Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” 16 But Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.” 17 They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.” 18 And he said, “Bring them here to me.” 19 Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.20 And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. 21 And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children. Matthew 14 : 13 – 21

I gave up the habit of writing prayer requests in a notebook and checking off the prayer requests which God answered, on a daily basis. It's time to start doing it again. One day, my friend and I went through the prayer requests, and the number of check marks we saw. It was awesome to see that our God is certainly a prayer answering God. When the check marks increased, our faith in Him increased. Hearing a “Yes” from God always made us happy. We were initially sad at a few prayer requests because they seemingly were not answered, or were answered negatively. For example, when we prayed for one of my friends’ husband to get a job at a small company, he was put on hold for several days. We felt very bad thinking that God was not answering our prayer. So I added a cross next to my prayer request, meaning the answer was a ‘No’. But you know what then happened after a few days? He got a job in a very big company. When we thought about it, we were glad that God didn’t answer our first prayer. Because of this, he was granted a bigger opportunity instead of ending up with an agreement that he would serve in the first company for at least a year. Isn’t God’s way amazing? We cannot even comprehend it by our own words.

Now let us meditate on the scripture Matthew 14:13-21. These 9 verses talk about how God fulfills our needs, in abundance.

Verse 14 says Jesus had compassion on those who followed Him. It also says that He healed them of their sicknesses. Verse 16 says that Jesus wanted to feed the people knowing that they would go tired if they walked all the way back home. He knew their needs. Verse 18 says that all He needs is, for us to surrender the little we have to Him. Verse 19 says that He wanted the people to prepare themselves for a miracle, and He blessed that very little amount of food, which could be of little or no help to the entire crowd (5000 men + their innumerable families), and multiplied it for them all. Verse 20 says that He satisfied them all. It also says that He blessed them in abundance as there were 12 basket full of the leftovers.

Wow! What a wonder! Little is not too little for our big God! The persistence to follow this compassionate God, surrendering the little things you have, and preparing yourself for a great miracle in faith and obedience, can result in abundant blessing for you & others through Him!

Lazarus' Deliverer

Because He himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted. Hebrews 2:18 Easter is the most special day in the history that gave hope to the mankind! Lazarus, the brother of Martha and Mary was dead four days before Jesus reached Bethany. Jesus loved that family and they loved him as well. He was not there when Lazarus was sick. Lazarus was buried when Jesus reached Bethany. His sisters were weeping. Jesus also wept. They told Jesus, “Lord, if you have been here, Lazarus would not have died.” They moved on to Lazarus’ tomb. There was a stone across the entrance. Surely there was bad odor. Yet, Jesus said, “Take away the stone. If you believed, you would see the glory of God.” He prayed and there came Lazarus alive with his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” God’s love is the same toward everyone! He doesn’t show favoritism. He love

Your protective shade!

The LORD Himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.  Psalm 121 : 5 I know it has been a very long time since I have sent God’s Word to you. Since this is the first email in 2014, I have been waiting to send you either my personal testimony or one of my friends’ testimonies. I have drafted several emails, but didn’t send anything. Today, I am not able to keep quiet when I think about what God has done for me over last weekend. If it is God’s will I will meet you again with a wonderful testimony of my friend, while I am sending mine to you now. Many of you know a bit about me. I traveled onsite in the year 2010 and returned to India for good in July, 2013. I got married in August, 2013 (this itself is a separate testimony) and started going to office from September, 2013. Since I had my visa valid for 2 more years I had been asked to take up an onsite assignment and was not offered a project at offshore. I had some concerns in traveling o

Be on guard; stay alert!

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Mark 8 : 36 With all the fun and timeout I had with my husband as we spent about 9 days in Kerala, I had trouble in sleeping last but the previous night because of restless legs. I know it would go if I ate few bananas, but I didn’t get up as I felt lazy. I did whatever I could, to sleep, but I only slept after several hours. I had a dream/vision like never before. It was very scary. Even now I am filled with what I saw that night. I don’t know how I can write about it, but I will try. I am not saying that I am a saint and God showed me this for some reason. But I don’t want to keep it with myself, because if it was from God, then I wanted to tell others. Please bear with me as you read forward. In my dream, I saw myself resting on my Aunt’s lap in the terrace at night. As I looked up while I was speaking, I saw the planet Saturn coming down from the Sky. It was very huge in size as it came down. The
