The Pharisees came and began to question Jesus. To test him, they asked him for a sign from heaven. He sighed deeply and said, "Why does this generation ask for a miraculous sign? Mark 8 : 11,12
Good morning, friends.
Last day, one of my friends working with me has sent me a text message that she has cleared an exam at the very last attempt only by the compassion of the Lord. I in turn have sent her an email saying, 'I praise God for your last attempt, where He proved that He still lives!' Later I reached my room and when I read Mark 8, the Lord made me realize one thing that I've done wrong.
If we carefully read all the four gospels from The Bible, we can know that the Pharisees were always around Jesus when He preached the truths, when He healed, when He raised people from the death. Even after knowing everything, they asked for a miraculous sign. Jesus questioned them and left them all and went other side.
I really felt ashamed for what I've sent to my friend. Didn't I behave exactly like the Pharisees? I know very well that even before I was born, He has chosen me and has known me by my name. So far, He has beautifully led me through various blessings, that I could not count forever. He has also led me through various trials and taught me how to overcome them all by His strength. I know very well that my Lord has great plans in store for me. I also know that He loves me more than anyone else, though I'm not at all worthy. I know that He has cleansed my blood red sins into cloudy white. I know that He is my potter who prepares me for the purpose He has for me. Though, I sent her 'I praise God for your last attempt, where he proved that He still lives'. Does He really have to prove that He lives even after His death for the worst sinners and the miraculous resurrection from the death?
'He is risen and He lives forever more'. Come on, let us celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, instead of looking/asking for miraculous signs.
