For everyone born of God (child of God) overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 1 John 5 : 4
Good morning, friends. I read this in a book and found it to be useful. I hope you’ll too.
Some years ago, a boy in a small Florida town heard that the Russians were their enemies. He began to wonder about the Russian children, finding it too hard to believe they were his enemies. He wrote a short note: “Dear friend in Russia, I’m seven years old and I believe that we can live in peace. I want to be your friend, not your enemy. Will you be my friend and write back to me?”
He closed the letter “Love and Peace” and signed his name. He neatly folded the note, out it into a bottle and threw it into an island lake near his home. Several days later, the bottle and the note were retrieved on a nearby beach. A story about the note appeared in a local newspaper and a wire service picked up the story and sent it nationwide. A group of people from New Hampshire who were taking children to the Soviet Union as ambassadors of peace, read the article, contacted the boy and his family and invited them to go with them. The little boy and his father traveled to Moscow as peacemakers!
Jesus told us to have faith like a little child. One boy believed that he could make a difference! Do you believe today that you too can make a difference when you’ve a deep desire for peace and love? At least maintain a good relationship in your small world, with your classmates, with your colleagues who are in the next cubicle, with the neighbors, with those who travel next to you in bus, etc,… Little drops of water make an ocean. If each and every one of us starts looking for ways to share our love, I believe there is no need for an ambassador. After all, we have a single life. Why do we have to waste it hating others?
