When Ahab saw Elijah, he said to him, “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?” 1 Kings 18 : 17Good morning, friends.
Elijah declared that there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at his word.1 Kings 17 : 1 And then there was no rain and Elijah ran to wherever the Lord told him and hid himself from the king Ahab. We saw what happened to Elijah and the widow at Zarephath when there was no rain. 1 Kings 18 : 1 After a long time, in the third year, the word of the LORD came to Elijah: “Go and present yourself to Ahab and I will send rain on the land.” So Elijah went to present himself to Ahab. Elijah met Obadiah who was a devout believer in the LORD and who took a hundred prophets and hid them in two caves. He asked Obadiah to tell Ahab that he was there. Obadiah went to meet Ahab and told him, and Ahab went to meet Elijah. When he saw Elijah, he said to him, “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?” “I have not made trouble for Israel,” Elijah replied. “But you and your father's family have. You have abandoned the LORD's commands and have followed the Baals. Now summon the people from all over Israel to meet me on Mount Carmel.”
Elijah, the man of God was considered as an angel by the widow of Zarephath, as she was blessed by the Lord through him. But to Ahab, Elijah was a troubler of Israel. Are you a servant of God who truly serves the Lord? If yes, then do you think that some people around you hate you because you’re not of the world and of God, that you’re very different from them? If yes, just praise God; stop murmuring at their backs. Pray for them and declare the Word of the Lord boldly, as Elijah did. They are the right souls for you! Through them and because of you, the Lord is going to exalt His name high and He’s going to show that He alone is the God. Amen!
