Jesus' Word 1 and 2 on the cross

Hi all,

Friends, as this is the Holy week, let us see something about what Jesus spoke when He was on the cross. Yesterday we had a meeting where we shared the Word of God based on these seven Words. There can be n number of emails that can be sent. But I try to make things short. Read a verse and then take a break and then proceed, if it is too long.

Word 1:

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” Luke 23:34

The people who shouted, “Hosannah!” and who prepared Him way on Palm Sunday, started shouting, “Nail Him on the cross” a few days later. He was beaten up like anything. People spitted on Him. They slapped Him. They made lot on His garments. They made Him bear a heavy cross. He was completely ill-treated by them.

Jesus – is the one who forgives the sins of the people. The primary purpose of Jesus to leave the place of the highest glory to the worst world is to forgive our sins. He insisted the same when He was on the cross when He was completed rejected and despised by men. He accepted all the spits, beats, mocks, etc,… without uttering a word. He was God and He could have cursed them for He didn’t deserve the cruel punishment. But still as He knew His purpose He chose to forgive everyone.

He teaches forgiveness in the Lord's prayer: "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us" Matthew 6:12 We have no rights to pray this prayer when we don’t forgive others. Let us forgive others even if they don’t deserve it.

Word 2:

“Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” Luke 23:43

One of the thieves who hung there insulted Jesus while the other one rebuked him saying, “We’re punished justly for what we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.” And then he said, “Lord, please remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Then Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

Out of all the pains He bore, Jesus didn’t curse anyone, but remained silent. He prayed for their forgiveness. This really touched the thief’s heart. He would have never listened to any of the sermons Jesus preached. But he should have felt divine power of Jesus on the cross and he believed that Jesus would reign. His sins were forgiven and his faith was honored by Jesus. He just asked Jesus to remember him, but Jesus granted much generously that HE reserved a place for him in Paradise.

This again reveals that even at the death pain, Jesus was able to forgive others and He never allowed anything to divert Him from the primary purpose.

To be continued…

Happy Good Friday and Easter to everyone!

Lazarus' Deliverer

Because He himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted. Hebrews 2:18 Easter is the most special day in the history that gave hope to the mankind! Lazarus, the brother of Martha and Mary was dead four days before Jesus reached Bethany. Jesus loved that family and they loved him as well. He was not there when Lazarus was sick. Lazarus was buried when Jesus reached Bethany. His sisters were weeping. Jesus also wept. They told Jesus, “Lord, if you have been here, Lazarus would not have died.” They moved on to Lazarus’ tomb. There was a stone across the entrance. Surely there was bad odor. Yet, Jesus said, “Take away the stone. If you believed, you would see the glory of God.” He prayed and there came Lazarus alive with his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” God’s love is the same toward everyone! He doesn’t show favoritism. He love...

Your protective shade!

The LORD Himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.  Psalm 121 : 5 I know it has been a very long time since I have sent God’s Word to you. Since this is the first email in 2014, I have been waiting to send you either my personal testimony or one of my friends’ testimonies. I have drafted several emails, but didn’t send anything. Today, I am not able to keep quiet when I think about what God has done for me over last weekend. If it is God’s will I will meet you again with a wonderful testimony of my friend, while I am sending mine to you now. Many of you know a bit about me. I traveled onsite in the year 2010 and returned to India for good in July, 2013. I got married in August, 2013 (this itself is a separate testimony) and started going to office from September, 2013. Since I had my visa valid for 2 more years I had been asked to take up an onsite assignment and was not offered a project at offshore. I had some concerns in traveli...

Cling on to Him!

Hi friends, You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the people. Psalm 77:14 Glad to greet you all today with another testimony! I have not touched enough my new personal laptop I would say. As my roommate’s husband came here to be with her this weekend and as he didn’t bring his laptop and as they both thought to work from home today, they needed another laptop. She asked me whether she could use mine for today and I don’t know why I was hesitant to say okay, but then somehow I handed it to them and called one of my colleagues to walk with me toward office. He is not working in my project, but then I was just telling about a question which my client manager has asked me last evening. I came up with many complex things to answer her this morning, but during our conversation he just spoke one simple line. It was highly non-technical. But God gave me a very good hint from his line and I was able to come up with a pretty simple logic which the client gladly ...
