This is the story which we told the kids when we visited the orphanage last time. Two friends Sam and Dany chose different paths. Sam became an advocate and Dany went away from the Lord and started committing sins and once he stole something and was in the court. Sam advocated for Dany and won the case though he knew that his friend stole things. He advised Dany and then let him go. The next time also the same happened. Dany was again set free by the help of Sam. Dany then was not afraid to do anything as he knew that Sam was on his side. Now he murdered someone and was in the court searching for Sam. This time he saw Sam not as a lawyer, but as the judge. He was so happy that by any chance he would escape. But he was shocked when he heard his friend declaring a death sentence to him. Gideon said, “I do have one request, that each of you give me an earring from your share of the plunder.” Judges 8 : 24 Good morning, friends. Today let us see the last part of Gideon. The land enjoyed peace in Gideon’s time. The Israelites said to Gideon, “Rule over us—you, your son and your grandson—because you have saved us out of the hand of Midian.” But Gideon told them, “I will not rule over you, nor will my son rule over you. The Lord will rule over you.” And he said, “I do have one request, that each of you give me an earring from your share of the plunder.” They answered, “We'll be glad to give them.” So they spread out a garment, and each man threw a ring from his plunder onto it. The weight of the gold rings he asked for came to seventeen hundred shekels, not counting the ornaments, the pendants and the purple garments worn by the kings of Midian or the chains that were on their camels' necks. Gideon considered himself as the least among the least, but God made it clear that He would deliver Israelites from the hands of Midianites through Gideon. But he was not so confident. Gideon said to God, “If You will save Israel by my hand as You have said; look, I shall put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor; if there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that You will save Israel by my hand, as You have said.” And it was so. When he rose early the next morning and squeezed the fleece together, he wrung the dew out of the fleece, a bowlful of water. Good morning, friends. I feel so guilty in not sending this email everyday. But when it came to annual appraisal, on the last day I tried my best to write about me in spite of the heavy work. I know that God is greater than all these appraisals and His work has to be given the highest priority. This is the shorter message which the Lord revealed to me. Today let us close this meditation on His Word on the cross. "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Matthew 27:46 Good morning. Jesus took all our sins on Him. From the sixth hour to the ninth hour, the darkness came all over the land. About the ninth hour Jesus cried aloud and said, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Have you ever seen God forsaking you? I haven’t. Because I would have gone to nothing if He has forsaken me, for it’s His grace and mercy that sustains me. We see in Bible many times Jesus going and having an individual fellowship with God. Always He had a deep desire to speak to God. He rejoiced in the presence of Lord. But once He took all our sins, those sins created a very big wall in between Jesus and the Lord which Jesus could not bear at all. When others beat Him, spat Him and mocked at Him, He was silent.
