God of second chances!

For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1 : 37

Do you feel that you are going nowhere just because you find yourself stuck with things that bother you? Then this is absolutely for you.

Yesterday, I was surprised to see Siddhu smiling at me early in the morning at around 6:20 AM.  He is 5 years old now and I live in his home as a paying guest. He held my hand and took me downstairs to show me a thick piece of paper on which he had cut and pasted Angry Birds’ green pigs. (Angry Birds is a game in which the players use a sling shot to launch the birds at pigs, with the intent of destroying them.) He had cut these out of the fruit gummies wrapper I had given him the previous day. He also colored the entire sheet of paper in green. While I stood, surprised to see how cute that was, he again took me to the kitchen, opened a cupboard, and gave me a yellow fruit gummy. He had never done that before. I told him that I hadn’t even brushed my teeth yet. He replied, “That’s fine. Take it up and eat it after you brush your teeth.” What a smart boy! He insisted, and so I took it with me. This made me feel quite happy and so I started getting ready to go to the office, with tons of smiles on my lips. Kids make our world beautiful!!!

He is a big fan of Angry Birds. He has many T-shirts that have Angry Birds pictures with many funny texts like ‘I have an angry face’, ‘I am an angry boy’, etc... That night, I saw him hanging around his mom and crying. When I asked her why, she told me that he wanted her to find the tape so he could work on that green colored paper again. When she didn’t give it to him, he really got angry and tore the paper to pieces. Once he realized that it was destroyed, he started crying. It took a long time for her to console him saying, “It’s okay. We can buy another one for you.”

It was funny to me. Recently I have been getting angry, even for small things. I didn’t yell at anyone. But the anger that we show openly is much better than the hatred we hold inside our heart. Pretty simple things disturb me a lot. But I know the magic reason for why I sometimes behave differently. I need to get closer to God. I have to have my feet rooted deep in Him. His strength will enable me to stand strong. I heard this phrase at Church: ‘When God is on our side and we are on His side, it doesn’t matter who is on the other side.’ I know we can find complete peace only in Him. But when things get worse day by day, I become afraid that things cannot be set right. But Siddhu’s “It’s no more” is easily erasable by his mother’s “Let us buy another one.” It really conveys a lot more than what I wanted to tell myself. Our pastor during His sermon preached, “Our God is a god of chances.” Breaking something several times is easy for us. But we have a God for whom rebuilding is possible. Now I really have hope that for God nothing is impossible and through Him we can do anything.

Just shake off the dust that is covering you and be willing to rise up again. Seek His help. He is waiting to rebuild the broken things in your life!

Lazarus' Deliverer

Because He himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted. Hebrews 2:18 Easter is the most special day in the history that gave hope to the mankind! Lazarus, the brother of Martha and Mary was dead four days before Jesus reached Bethany. Jesus loved that family and they loved him as well. He was not there when Lazarus was sick. Lazarus was buried when Jesus reached Bethany. His sisters were weeping. Jesus also wept. They told Jesus, “Lord, if you have been here, Lazarus would not have died.” They moved on to Lazarus’ tomb. There was a stone across the entrance. Surely there was bad odor. Yet, Jesus said, “Take away the stone. If you believed, you would see the glory of God.” He prayed and there came Lazarus alive with his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.” God’s love is the same toward everyone! He doesn’t show favoritism. He love

Your protective shade!

The LORD Himself watches over you! The LORD stands beside you as your protective shade.  Psalm 121 : 5 I know it has been a very long time since I have sent God’s Word to you. Since this is the first email in 2014, I have been waiting to send you either my personal testimony or one of my friends’ testimonies. I have drafted several emails, but didn’t send anything. Today, I am not able to keep quiet when I think about what God has done for me over last weekend. If it is God’s will I will meet you again with a wonderful testimony of my friend, while I am sending mine to you now. Many of you know a bit about me. I traveled onsite in the year 2010 and returned to India for good in July, 2013. I got married in August, 2013 (this itself is a separate testimony) and started going to office from September, 2013. Since I had my visa valid for 2 more years I had been asked to take up an onsite assignment and was not offered a project at offshore. I had some concerns in traveling o

If You want, I will!

"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "Be it unto me according to Your Word." Luke 1: 38 Good morning! Yesterday early in the morning when I was getting ready to go to office, I heard my husband speaking to me with a thin voice and to hear him better I went close to him without expecting him to wave his hand (without knowing that I went close to him) over my face with his nails on. A portion of skin under my eyes was peeled off. Since it was near the infraorbital furrow, it is not visible outside. But it is painful. This incident has nothing to do with the message today, except this reminded me of all the hurting moments (not physical hurts, but emotional) I experienced in my life thus far because of the ones I trusted and I didn’t reciprocate, I felt like I have been sacrificing so much for nothing, to the point that, those who hurt me didn’t even know that they did. As I think too much about it, it is painful. But I believe everyone who trust
