Indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. Psalms 121:4
Good morning, friends.
Now-a-days I’m working in first shift. I’ve to get up at least by 4.15 AM everyday. I’ve to be in office at around 6 AM in the morning. You all may know how tough it is to get up so early especially when the weather is too cold. I’m staying away from my parents for work. I set up an alarm every night before I go to sleep. You know what happens? My hand will automatically snooze the alarm every now and then as I’ll be so sleepy. But my father will call me everyday at around 4.15 AM. That’s normal. But one day he returned to my hometown so late by 2 AM and then as usual he called me. I asked him if he could call me after ten minutes. He agreed and then when he woke me up again, he told me that he didn’t sleep at all for the entire night as he knew if he slept, he would have not waken up at 4 AM to give me a call. Though I was worried for not allowing him to sleep, I felt so happy that my mom and dad are always thinking of me even beyond their sleep.
My friend, when I think of their love, I also think there is someone who is greater than my mom and dad who works in ways I cannot see. The prophet Jeremiah says that the plans the Lord has for me is to prosper me and not to harm me. But sometimes we question God, “Aren’t you seeing me walking through such a pain that I cannot bear?” “If I’m the apple of Your eyes, why is this happening to me?” and the questions list grows. The Psalmist boldly says, “Though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I fear no evil for Your rod and Your staff they comfort me.” Shall we say that to Him today?
In my fellowship, one uncle always says, “Life is so simple; we are trying all that we can to complicate it.”
In Don Moen’s ‘Hiding Place’ album, there is a wonderful song ‘He never sleeps, He never slumbers.’ It is written so beautifully. I love the lines below.
Do you think that the Lord has forgotten your needs? Just remember that the Lord is always working in ways you cannot see. He never sleeps; He never slumbers; He never tires of hearing our prayer. When we are weak, He becomes stronger. So rest in His love and cast all of your cares on Him. And his song ‘God is good’ has ‘Though I may not understand all the plans You have for me, my life is in Your hands. And through the eyes of faith, I can clearly see.’
Do you think the saints who stand up for God have no problems? No, they too have. But they see the problems through their eyes of faith. We keep them closed. That’s the only difference. Trust Him to the core and overcome the problems you have, because the battle belongs to Him. And through Him the victory is ours. Cheer up.
May God bless you all!
